World Space Week 2001 Plans

1. The project of World Space Week was sent to National House of Representatives so that it would be considered of national cultural interest (of which already have obtained partial approval, it is necessary to wait more days for final approval)

2. I am organaising an opening ceremony to which authorities of the province and the nation are invited (City Mayor and CONAE repsentative). Among other guests are students of different schools from the zone with their respective professors.

3. The opening ceremony is planned for 4th. October at 9hs. (GMT -3).

4. A group of students will present advances in the medicine obtained during space exploration and the utilities of the space station. They will present a telescope made in St. Peterīs School by a group of students.

5. On day 5, at 10hs the Prof. Alejandro Di Baja will give a talk on " the possibility of extraterrestrial life ", at 14hs. the Dr Jorge Mermoz (member of Mars Society) will give a conference on Astrobiology. At 20hs will commence a night of observation with the telescope directed by Prof.

Alejandro Di Baja and the Observatory Friends of Astronomer Felix Aguilar.

6. On day 6 at 20hs. continue observation with the telescope directed by Prof. Alejandro Di Baja and the Observatory Friends of Astronomer Felix Aguilar.

7. On day 8 at 10hs : Conference in charge of Ing. Machado (CONAE). "Space Tecnology in Argentina". At 14hs Space orientated General Knowledge.

8. On day 9 at 14hs Conference in charge of Ing. G. Rshaid (Mars Society) "Colonization of Mars".

9. Closing ceremony: Certificate of participation awards.

Beside from this there is underway contests in art, literature and rockets. The result of these contests will be given during the week from the 4 to the 10.

The National Coordinator from Chile and I are organising a chat via internet for both countries about Space Colonies.
