World Space Week 2004 Report
On the occasion of the 55th National Day for the Peoples' Republic of China, and the activities throughout the world for the World Space Week celebration, Mr. Jin Zhuanglong, Secretary General of Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense (COSTIND) and its delegation (COSTIND/CNSA), arrived in Macau and hosed a major exhibition and seminar on the them of "China's Space Route – Behind the Success" to commemorate World Space Week this year.
This "China's Space Route – Behind the Success" Exhibition and Seminar presented more then 40 year of China's space endeavor, the present statues and
future scenario. Demonstrated the significant contribution of China's space program to the world. It is a crystal of effort of numerous space scientists and thief selfless contribution.
This event is separated in to picture exhibition and special topic presentations. The exhibition are separated into preambles, endeavor history, glorious
achievements, future scenarios and conclusions, a structure that intends to have a vivid display of China's space history, present statues and the future. The special topic presentation will have IAA and CAS
academicians, award winner for the "two bomb and one satellite", China's lunar mission chief designer, who designed and many other satellites, Dr. Sun Jiadong shall present his personal story on space and the rarely
known stories behind the successes.
Hosting such an event provided an opportunity for the people of Macau, especially its youth, to better understand the glamorous achievement in space by its
mother country, and decades of selfless contribution and painful struggle by its space people. On one side, the people of Macau will share this space flight dream by a Chinese and China's space fruitful
achievements. On the other side, this will arouse their patriotic and progressing spirit, for their country and for the space programs.
This event received support from the Government of Macau Special Administrative Region and Macau Foundation. When the exhibition completed, the hosting side
will exhibit the pictures in Macau schools.
