World Space Week 2001 Plans

Participant institutions in World Space Week are:

  • National Aircrafts Museum

Planned activities in Cuba are:

October 10 to 14: TV Spot about the World Space Week, University of Havana.

  • Exhibition about the development of Astronomy in Cuba.
  • Visit to the Astronautics Room of the National Aircrafts Museum.

October 4: Open Ceremony, University of Havana. Dr. Lourdes Palacio and Eng. Jorge Fuentes. Conferences by Lic. Ernesto Rodriguez and Lic. Adolfo Mendez.

October 5: Conferences by Lic. Luis E. Ramos, Lic. Efrein Jaime and Lic. Eduardo del Pozo.

October 6: "Party of the STARS" Night observations with telescopes from Havana Malecon. Cosmos Group, University of Havana.

October 7: TV Program with the appearance of the Cuban astronaut Arnaldo Tamayo Méndez and the Dr. Oscar Alvarez.

October 8: Conferences by Lic. Jorge Valiente and Dr. Oscar Alvarez

October 9: Talk with Cosmos Group , University of Havana. Conference by Professor Jorge Pérez Doval.

October 10: Close Ceremony of the World Space Week in Havana.
