Note: For 2009 more $500 Educational Awards available!
World Space Week received a tremendous number of entries for
the 2008 Educational Awards. It was incredibly hard to narrow it down to two Award winners for which we had secured
funding as so many entries were of outstanding quality.
2008 Educational Awards winners:
- Mrs. Rebecca Sutton, teacher of 4-6th grade (9-12 year-olds) Science at St. Pius Catholic School in Dallas, TX, USA.
- Romanian Space Agency, co-ordinating of and representing the very many and great contributions from Romania.
Mrs. Sutton impressed us with the pictures and work plans she sent us. This is how her week looked like:
- Monday – Alien Goo: Exploring the properties of solids and liquids.
- Tuesday – Vocabulary Test & Balloon Rockets
- Wednesday – Making Rockets: Testing out Newton’s Third Law
- Thursday – Launching the Rockets: Count it down!
- Friday – Egg & Penny Inertia: Newton’s First Law
But admitted especially her video charmed us as it captures the essence of World Space Week:
to inspire the next generation in the believe that they will accomplish many great things for all mankind;
while having great fun!
See for yourself:
