Report on the Results:  "Earth's Atmosphere: layers of cold and high clouds" event took place on October 1st, 2016 and was timed to coincide with the beginning of World Space Week. The event was led by Dmitry Matsnev. He noted that in the mid of the 20th century orbital research laboratories allowed scientists to explore the global processes, covering the entire Earth and atmosphere. The extensive cold areas in upper atmosphere were scanned during satellite laser sensing experiments. Senior researcher at the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Oleg Ugolnikov gave a lecture on the latest models of the structure of the Earth's atmosphere and the modern understanding of processes in it's higher layers
