Event Name:  Shooting for the stars, the open source way.
Event Description:  18:00 Amfitheatre A, Computer Science Dept. University of Crete A talk on the development of the first satellite made in Greece, UPSat that's also the fist satellite developed as an open hardware and open source software project. Team member will talk about the story of creating an open source project for space, from the early beginning of start a local hackerspace in Athens Greece (hackerspace.gr), to developing an open satellite ground station network (SatNOGS), a non-profit to advance open technologies in space (Libre Space Foundation) and last but not least UPSat itselft together with the University of Patras.
