| Report on the Results: | On the fifth day of WSW, Sunday 8th of Oct, Space-based Remote Sensing Applications in Atmospheric Science Workshop was held. This workshop was organized in accordance with the agreement between ISA and the Meteorological Organization of Iran in order to introduce space-based remote sensing application in atmospheric science to experts, directors and deputies of related fields. 9 lectures were given during this workshop by experts and representatives from over 50 ministries, governmental bodies and private sector participated in it. Some main topics and objectives were: • Introducing latest achievements of experts of related fields • Introducing capabilities of remote sensing and scientific and practical application to meteorological organization • Expanding, improving and enhancing the applications of remote sensing in meteorological phenomena, as well as enhancing the accuracy of meteorological forecasts, climate issues, draught, agriculture meteorology • Qualitative and quantitative improvement of professional workforce and their scientific promotion • Consolidating scientific relations with universities, researchers and students in related fields such as meteorology and remote sensing. |
