| Report on the Results: | In accordance with the message of WSW 2017 which is "Exploring New Worlds in Space", ISA has organized a seminar to highlight this subject. "Exoplanets and Habitable Worlds Seminar" was held on Monday 9th of October at science and research branch of Islamic Azad University, in cooperation with universities and experts of astronomical and space science field in order to introduce this subject to enthusiasts. Exoplanets and their habitability, as the main themes of this seminar, are among the newest research topics around the world. Main topics include: • Exoplanets and their identification method • Future projects and space missions for exoplanets studies • Exoplanets physics, identification and observation • Habitability of exoplanets and their evaluation • Data processing of exoplanets related data At the beginning, a report of ISA's activities during the WSW was presented. Then the speakers from International Astronomical Union (IAU), Sharif Technical University, Shahid Beheshti University, Islamic Azad University, Isfahan Technical University, ISA and Aerospace Research Institute (ARI) presented topics such as exoplanets formation, detection methods, statistical data analysis of exoplanets, astrobiology, exoplanets observation and data analysis methods, photometry of exoplanets using telescopes, biodiversity of extraterrestrial life, organic structures and conventional and unconventional life in the universe. 120 students and researchers participated in this seminar. During this 8-hour program, besides learning theoretical topics, practical methods and scientific data processing topics were also discussed. |
