Report on the Results:  On October 7-8 three lectures devoted to launching the first satellite were provided by veterans of Ukrainian aerospace industry for school students and students of Kiev Polytechnic Institute. About 50 young people participated in those events. These lectures were held in The State Polytechnic Museum which was opened at Kiev Polytechnic Institute in 1995. The Museum has 9 rooms, and offers something for everyone. In Computer Science and Astronautics section you can find, for example, first in Russia Telephone Exchange Station made in 1886; first Ukrainian city vehicle Zaporozhets; vacuum-tube radio-gramophones; old record players; TV with a screen dimension equal to the box of matches; the oldest computer, which looks like a small house; presses and planes. The main lecturer was Alexander Boltenko, the Head of Airspace Section of the State Polytechnic Museum, the veteran of BAYKONUR space centre.
