| Event Description: | Space expert Jerry Stone, from Spaceflight UK, takes Year 5 on an exciting journey into space. The first activity is to build a large model of the International Space Station ... out of toilet rolls, pizza trays, bamboo skewers, kitchen foil and straws! The finished model is 1.5m long, and includes Tim Peake making his spacewalk. After lunch, Mission To Mars sees the pupils designing and building Mars landers to allow their payload - a raw egg - to land safely. Will they have the necessary eggspertise, or will their eggstronaut crack up on landing? The day ends will some spectacular demonstration air rocket launchings for all pupils and parents. |
