| Event Name: | Astronomy for Peace Weekend Camp! |
| Event Description: | Columba Herschel invites you to our next Astronomy Camp! Up in the Troodos mountains, we will have a wonderfully dark sky to enjoy -- come camp under the stars with us :) During the day on Saturday and Sunday there will be Astronomy games for children, solar observations with a special telescope and talks by professional Astronomers. As night falls on Saturday, we start our telescope observations of the night sky, including the planets Mars and Jupiter. If we are lucky we will also catch a glimpse of the Draconid Meteor Shower! Our team of astronomers and educators will be there to answer all your Astronomy questions! There will be educators who speak English, Greek and Turkish. The event itself is FREE TO ATTEND. Feel free to join us for either one or both days or just for the telescope observations. If you would like to camp with us under the stars, you can rent a tent onsite (4 euros per person, tents accommodate 3 or 4 people, please specify preference) or pitch your own tent for free. YOU MUST INFORM US IF YOU INTEND TO CAMP AS THERE ARE LIMITED PLACES TO PITCH TENTS. Join us to learn all about the Universe we live in! The Columba-Herschel Project is an Astronomy outreach initiative in Cyprus which aims to promote peace and non-violence across our divided island, through the use of Astronomy.
