Event Name:  Science Celebration
Event Description:  An outdoor open house format from 10am to 3pm has a full name of “Dinosaur Discovery Day: A Science Celebration with the Girl Scouts of Colorado.“ Explore ancient earth, earth and near earth environments with activities such as solar observing, searching for iron meteorites, an exhibit of the boundary layer clay from Colorado, a meteorite collection, time keeping with a sundial, and learning how the Milankovitch cycles may affect earth’s climate. Several fossil activities for National Fossil Day and energy, rock and mineral exhibits and activities (including gold panning) for Earth Science Week will include guides stationed along the famous Dinosaur Ridge Trail. Door prizes and a scavenger hunt will add to the fun The public is welcome as Girl Scouts strive to earn badges.
