Event Name:  Space Week CPD at CIT Blackrock Castle Observatory
Event Description:  This 2 hour course will show participants how to use inquiry-based learning techniques to promote children's learning and understanding of Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM). Participants will also explore activities that support the theme of Space Week in particular "Dark Skies and the Effects of Light Pollution."  These design and make activities use the DPSM/ESERO Framework for Inquiry and incorporate ICT skills. This course is being offered with the support of Science Foundation Ireland and ESERO Ireland (European Space Education Resource Office).  Science Foundation Ireland Discover Science & Maths Award Space Week is an opportunity for primary school students and teachers to learn more about space. Space themed activities can count towards the criteria for the Science Foundation Ireland Discover Science & Maths Award.  Tea and coffee will be served at the start of each session. Note: all sessions require a minimum of 10 participants to run  Wednesday 19 September 6pm to 8pm: CIT Blackrock Castle Observatory book via Cork Education Center here.
