Event Description:  Cunard is delighted to offer you the opportunity to celebrate World Space Week with a special space-themed Transatlantic Crossing on flagship liner, Queen Mary 2. Departing Southampton, England on 26 September and arriving into New York on 4 October, this eight-night journey will feature a variety of space-themed experiences, including talks from distinguished space explorers and astronomers. This year's line up includes astronaut Professor Ulrich Walter; astronomer and Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society Dr Dan Wilkins; expert in Space Law Professor Joanne Gabrynowicz; and Apollo wife Sue Bean and daughter Amy, family of Aviator, Astronaut, and Artist Alan Bean. Cunard’s partnership with the Royal Astronomical Society allows the ship's on board planetarium to offer specially-curated shows, explaining what can be seen in the night sky and putting distant stars and galaxies into focus. In addition, anyone who has enjoyed a clear night mid-Atlantic will attest to Queen Mary 2 being the perfect venue to stargaze - away from light and air pollution.
