Event Name:  Sputnik at 50
Event Description:  The Adler Planetarium will celebrate Sputnik's 50th anniversary with a public program and exclusive talk with Dr. Sergei N. Khrushchev, son of former Soviet Premier, Nikita Khrushchev. The event, held on Thursday evening, October 4 at Northwestern's Thorne Auditorium, will feature Dr. Khrushchev, a Soviet-trained engineer who speaks widely on international relations and the Cold War, in a discussion with Roger Launius, PhD, of the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum, about the historic Space Race. This is a ticketed, evening event. Tickets will be available starting at the end of September 2007.
