Report on the Results:	On October 9 Grandmothers for Peace in Superior, Wisconsin, traveled to neighboring Duluth, Minnesota to deliver fliers on Keeping Space for Peace at a talk given by Dr. Helen Caldicott. The meeting was sponsored by Santa Scholastica College and approximately 100 people, predominantly college students, were present. Dr. Caldicott, who is a prominent opponent of nuclear weapons and works constantly for their abolition, spoke that night on the dangers of nuclear power. To support Keeping Space for Peace and the Outer Space treaty which seeks to ensure the peaceful uses of space for the benefit of all humankind, the Grannies brought and distributed 75 Global Network fliers. These outlined the dangers of space militarization, and its connection with possible use of nuclear weapons in future preemptive war. The Grannies hoped they at least helped educate the students on the little discussed space militarization program promoted by the military-industrial complex, and on its relationship to nuclear weapons, also produced for substantial profits by the same aerospace corporations and their subcontractors. The flyers were produced by Bruce Gagnon and the Global Network against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space. The network is the originator and major organizer of Keep Space for Peace Week. Helen Caldicott has said of Bruce Gagnon, Coordinator of Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space that he is one of the more noble people on the planet today. Few people devote their life to saving the Earth. Bruce, who grew up a Republican and joined the U.S. Air Force had a conversion on his Road to Damascus. He has taught, alerted and led hundreds of thousands of people nationally and internationally to oppose the U.S. plans to weaponize and dominate space. I am one of those people. Helen Caldicott MD
