Event Name:  From outer to inner space - Using satellites to monitor the seas around us
Event Description:  Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML) will host a free-of-charge informative early evening event titled ‘From outer to inner space - Using satellites to monitor the seas around us’ during World Space Week, on Thursday the 10th of October. Kelvin Boot, Science Communicator and BBC Radio 4 Presenter will open the event followed by Satellite Earth Observation experts presenting on the opportunities and use of satellites, including specific examples such as using satellite technologies to understand the at-sea behaviour of large marine vertebrates, such as basking sharks, and using ocean colour for monitoring water quality. Doors open at 6.45, talks starting at 7pm followed by refreshments and networking until 9pm; parking is available. Registration is via email: forinfo@pml.ac.uk.
