Event Name:  ESA and the European Galileo satellite navigation program
Event Description:  Lecture by Koen De Beule, engineer working at ESA and ESTEC. First, there will be an introduction about ESA, with focus on the activities of ESA in the different establishments in Europe and abroad. Secondly, there will be an intermezzo on the Hubble Space Telescope, more specifically the replacement and inspection of the first generation solar panels. The main part of the lecture will be on the European Navigation satellite program GALILEO. What is it all about, what is the difference with other global navigation satellite systems en how does the program progress? In addition, there will be the possibility to ask questions.
