| Event Description: | This event was a symposium organized by ISRC on Thursday 9 October 2014 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for high school students. The focus was on space science and technology and its applications, especially GNSS applications in everyday life. |

| Report on the Results: | 300 high school students participated in this symposium. This event provided students with the chance to learn about space science and technology and its applications especially in daily life, GNSS and its applications in daily life, space science as mentioned in Qur'an (Islam's Holy Book) as well as the space activities undertaken in Iran all through PowerPoint presentations, lectures and interesting video clips. In this symposium, the launch video of Fargam and Pishgam (Iran’s astronaut monkeys) was shown and then the monkeys were brought to the stage and students took pictures with them. On the sidelines of the symposium, students could visit an exhibition of Iran’s space projects and observe the sun using special telescopes. Participants left after they had lunch at 12. This event was broadcast live on TV by IRINN and was broadcast during the following days on TV7. YJC, IRNA and ISNA also reported the event. |
