Event Description: | Spaced-based instruments, such as the Hubble Space Telescope and the James Webb Space Telescope, contribute knowledge, discovery, cooperation and capability. Find out the latest about what is happening with these craft and other proposed observation missions. Duncan is involved in several projects mostly focusing on exoplanetary science and instrumentation. He is the lead scientist for UniSQs involvement in the upcoming Twinkle Space Mission; manages the operation of the MINERVA-Australis facility near Toowoomba; and does follow-up research for NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). He has worked at the University of Canterbury, the Royal Observatory of Belgium, UNSW, the Australian Astronomical Observatory, and now UniSQ. And…following that we’ll have a special guest who will tell us how they made an exciting discovery, which has been covered extensively in Australian and international media, both popular and scientific. Don’t miss it! |
