Event Description:  Friday, October 10, 2008 In conjunction with World Space Week activities, the San Diego Space Society and The Mars Society-San Diego will host a special screening of OCTOBER SKY (1999) Sometimes one dream is enough to light up the whole sky. The true story of Homer Hickam (author of Rocket Boys), a coal miner's son who was inspired by the first Sputnik launch to take up rocketry against his father's wishes.
