Event Description:  Come to ASU campus and discover our "Gallery of Scientific Exploration", with interactive exhibits and a 3D planetarium connecting you to the most recent earth and space exploration research. Lasting all week, there are events happening every day. Monday 3pm: A lecture on Archaeoastronomy and cultural constellations. 6pm: Join AstroDevils and Professor Scowen for a walk through the history of observing, and then go do some observing yourself through our collection of telescopes. Tuesday All day GeoClub will be having a scavenger hunt across campus looking for some really interesting samples, and when you're finished shop their amazing collection of minerals. Wednesday The Altair Rocketry team will be having water rocket demonstrations out front, while competition rockets will be on display inside the gallery. 3pm: Colloquium speaker George Cody will be speaking on the history of the early Solar System and how we investigate it today. 7pm: Marston Exploration Theatre will be showing one of their newest shows on Hubble and the exploration of our universe across the spectrum. Thursday 12pm: Sun Devil Satellite Lab's advising professor Dr. White discusses electric propulsion and how this is used on small satellites, or "cubesats". 5:30pm: Enjoy the classic Star Trek episode "Trouble with Tribbles", before experts such as former astronaut Scott Parazynski talk about the challenges and everyday aspects of space living. Friday In the morning, come and watch a live feed of a balloon launched over the desert in southern Arizona, and talk with high altitude balloon experts as we watch the curve of the Earth appear from the cameras. 4pm: Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) will be hosting a Student Business Plan Competition where aspiring student entrepreneurs will pitch their best ideas for a space industry company and compete for prizes provided by the NewSpace Initiative. Be sure to stop by and support these student organizations who are eager about space and the discovery of new things in it.
