Space: Horizon Beyond Earth The theme of World Space Week 2003 is "Space: Horizon Beyond Earth." Space offers two vast arenas -- near Earth and outer space. Near Earth space applications provide a wealth of benefits to humankind, such as communications, scientific and medical research, and monitoring our environment. Outer space is the realm of exciting missions to explore the solar system and our universe, pushing the frontiers of science. Sometimes these areas compliment each other and sometimes they conflict. World Space Week 2003 participants are encouraged to explore, develop, and apply this theme. |
