World Space Week 2012 Begins

UN-declared World Space Week 2012 begins October 4.  As of October 2, over 300 events in 40 nations were registered on the World Space Week web site.  Event organizers include:

  • SUPARCO -- Pakistan's space agency plans a multitude of World Space Week events across the country
  • UK Space Agency -- Plans daily tweet-ups on space subjects
  • Space Foundation -- Is holding several events in the U.S.

World Space Week is the result of coordinated effort by the global space community.  Teachers around the world will also use space this week to inspire children about math, science, and other subjects.
