| Event Description: | Academical Astronomical Society - Rijeka will organize three public lectures in this year's World Space Week. All the lectures are inspired by the main theme of World Space Week, so we'll talk about exploring new worlds both in the Solar system and beyond. Thursday, October 5th, 8.30 p.m.: "Exploring Mars" - lecture about new discoveries made by Mars rovers, as well as about future missions towards Mars. Friday, October 6th, 9 p.m.: "Searching for the new Earth: Extrasolar planets" - lecture about methods of discovering extrasolar planets, as well as about most interesting planets discovered so far. Saturday, October 7th, 6.30 p.m.: "Exploring the new Worlds in Solar system" - lecture about most interesting objects in Solar system, like Jupiter's moon Europa and Saturn's moon Enceladus (and others), because their underground oceans might harbour life. In case of good weather, after the lectures the visitors will be able to observe celestial objects through the telescope. |
