Event Name:  Rocks and Robots (hunting for the geology of Earth, in the solar system, Primary School Session)
Event Description:  1-1.5hour session with primary age children (suitable ages 6-10) Interactive talk exploring ‘planetary geology’ on Earth and the solar system (volcanoes, ice, seas, meteorite craters), and touching on the robots (probes/landers) that tell us what we know, and the exciting future of space exploration (e.g. finding life in the seas of an icy moon) Aim is to educate, inspire and delight kids with the knowledge and mysteries of space and what they could get involved in when they grow up Utilises NASA imagery from archive, and also gets them drawing and taking part, a high energy session. Delivered by Liz Tinlin, a volunteer STEM Ambassador and space enthusiast Available to repeat in other schools as needed, please get in touch

Report on the Results:  3 talks in schools in Oxfordshire and London, to around 230 children. Fantastic response, many questions. Feedback from teachers excellent, mentioned by parents at parents' evening. Some children have written thank you notes, and some sent more questions by email via teachers. Talk will be repeated in more schools in January. Previous schools have requested follow up talks next summer for Moon Landings anniversary
