Event Description:  Finding Cardinal Directions using shortest shadow method using a Gnomon and finding the circumference of the Earth using the shortest shadow.

Report on the Results:  Students found out the cardinal directions using the shortest shadow method and there was less 5 degrees of error. By using the shortest shadow length they also calculated the circumference of the Earth. They also learned about Eratosthenes who was the first one to calculate the circumference of Earth.
