| Report on the Results: | 1.Opening WSW was expected by gymnazium pupils, looking forward to know more about how our ancestors imagined Space and how do astronauts travel nowadays. The demo was a real success, toy rocket caught attention and the lecture about space ships and satellites was often interrupted by questions. 2. What a better way to celebrate Teacher's Day but to use non-formal methods learned over the years at various teacher training courses. Pupils(ages 10-13) learned the principle of the rocket engine and built their own models from paper, glue, plastic bottles, effervescent pills and water. Stargazing was possible, a clear sky opened for more than 30 pupils and parents, when our volunteers showed them how to use a Newtonian telescope on EQ mount and pointed the scope to some wonders of the sky. 3. Busy day but some pupils found the time to learn about how to build a space robot or mini/micro satellite, looking forward to practically do that. 4. 4th graders will build their own paper models of our Solar System and try to imagine how distant the planets are between themselves and how far they are from the Sun. 5. Closing WSW 2018 - "Study with Space" lecture and Yuri Gagarin's hystory will be postponed for Oct11, when will announce what we are going to prepare for April 12, 2019. |
