| Event Description: | To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the launch of Sputnik, HAL5 will be hosting an unique panel discussions talking about the with two members of the Von Braun's rocket team, Konrad Dannenberg and Dr. Ernst Stuhlinger, and NASA historian Mike Wright. The event is free and open to the public. Thursday, October 4 at 7 PM at Huntsville - Madison County Main Public library. 915 Monroe Street in downtown Huntsville. |

| Report on the Results: | With help from Konrad and Jackie Dannenberg and Ralph Petroff, we had a panel discussions celebrating the 50th anniversary of Sputnik. Our guest panelists were Von Braun Rocket Team (and NSS) members Konrad Dannenberg and Ernst Stuhlinger (winner of the first NSS Von Braun Award), plus a last minute substitute of Apollo-era engineer (and NSS member too) Dave Christensen. Ralph Petroff did an excellent job moderating the event and showing off his full-scale replica of Sputnik and old newsreel footage. |
