This website hopes to further the goals of both IHY (2007/8) and WSW by connecting students, teachers, and the public to data and technology from NASA-funded space missions. People from around the world can discuss and examine these data in the context of space weather to explore the Sun's raging storms, coronal mass ejections, solar flares, and their impact on Earth's magnetic field, auroras, upper atmosphere, and technology. We hope to increase appreciation worldwide for our very own dynamic star, the Sun, and its little-known influences on the space around Earth.(http://cse.ssl.berkeley.edu/segway/WSW.html) There are 2 main web-based activities: (1) 'Determine the Magnetic Storminess of Earth's Magnetic Field' using THEMIS data and (2) 'Track a Solar Flare to its Source' using SID data, both are state of the art research quality data. The website will provide a detailed guide to the activities and background information on the science for the teachers.
