Event Description:
If you’re fascinated by space and the cosmos, interested in what
people, companies, and governments are doing there, or just curious about how our ever-increasing ability to reach beyond Earth affects
our society and its future, please join us for our monthly Space
Cafes! This is your chance to informally interact with some of the
premier minds in space science, technology, business, and policy!
The Space Cafes will nominally take place on the first Tuesday of
every month at the Science Club, located at 1136 19th Street, NW.
Arrive at 6pm to buy your drinks off the happy hour menu, order
something delicious to eat, meet your fellow enthusiasts, and chat
with the speaker. The speaker will talk briefly, followed by
questions, answers, discussion, and good-natured debate!
Our first Space Café will be held on October 4th – the 54th
anniversary of the launch of Sputnik I, humanity’s first artificial
satellite and harbinger of the Space Age – to coincide with United
Nations World Space Week. Our speaker will be Dr. Lance Bush,
Chief Strategic Officer of Paragon Space Development Corporation.
Come on out and chat with Lance, meet fellow space enthusiasts,
and enjoy the Science Club’s food and drink fare! See you there!
