Event Description:  The World Space Week at Penza Secondary School №56 On October 7, students of Grades 4 and 5 launched a real hydraulic rocket at the school sports ground. Dmitry Ershov and Yuri Lub, members of aircraft model club of the Children's Creativity House, showed the students how to make this model. According to the idea of rocket flight and the principle of jet propulsion with water and compressed air, they decided to take ordinary plastic bottles, which were connected with a threaded sleeve and a standard cap. The lower bottle was filled with water, the upper one served as a receiver. The case of the plastic bottle can withstand high pressure (2.5 - 3 bar). Even if the case of the bottle burst up, the participants of the experiment wouldn’t risk to get an injury as a long air pump hose and remote control are used. This model makes it possible to do different experiments and, what is more important, it allows students to get idea of a jet engine. You can build an air-hydraulic rocket by yourself. The game "Entertaining Biochemistry" was held for students of Grades 5-8 that day too. It was dedicated to the natural sciences in the study of Cosmos: biology, chemistry, physics, geography. Questions and tasks of the game were about space and the Moon: substances and their properties in zero gravity, human capabilities in zero gravity, life of astronauts, animals in space and comparison of factors affecting the body on the Earth and the Moon. The participants showed good results. Students of Grade 7 visited the Museum of Amusing Sciences at the Penza State University. They discovered the secrets of the star sky, simulated collisions of planets with asteroids and processes at an early stage of the evolution of the Universe, launched rocket models, learned a lot about physical devices... That visit to the museum impressed our students so much.
