| Report on the Results: | Students and Teachers of Gheorghe Țițeica Celebrate a Decade of WSW Joy and excitement between October 4-th and 10-th at School „GheorgheȚițeica” in Constanța, Romania, while students and teachers together had a wonderful time being creative and learning more about the mysteries of the Universe on a journey to the Moon and back to Earth in a special effort to celebrate the anniversary 10-th edition of the WSW- World Space Week, with the topic The MOON- Gateway to the Stars. ” It's wonderful to see our students come and ask about Space Week as soon as school starts in an attempt to get out there, get outside the classroom and find out as much as they can about the Universe!"- the coordinator of the project/ school librarian Anca Mosoiu declares. Some activities were art and craft- students of the primary classes made collages and drawings, based on poems about the Moon, others used the information in science class to make 3D designs of our Solar System and to demonstrate the movements of the Sun, the Earth and the Moon. They also recycled different materials to complete their models. Some students- second graders- worked as a team and brought their ideas to life in brochures about the Moon, the Sun and the planets, with personal illustrations. Others painted T-shirts with the Moon and created a ” space ” atmosphere in their classroom, decorating it with self-made space- suits and shuttles. Secondary school students created little poems, stories or riddles based on the idea of the Moon, they watched videos with details of space missions and in English classes they read about the mission of Apollo 11, they listened to songs and found idioms with the word „ MOON”. They also had a quiz contest with curiosities, fun facts and symbols related to the moon. Some wonderful activities, marking WSW this year, were proudly presented by the following classes: Prep.
