Report on the Results: |
Jupiter viewing event combined with International Observe the Moon Night, held 7th Oct from 21:00-23:30. Almost everyone who attended saw Jupiter and its moons through a telescope for the first time. No media coverage as far as we are am aware. Approx 400-450 attendance, which is probably the largest attendance we've had to an astronomy event. Attendance boosted by on-the-night canvassing of nearby public locations with leaflets. Distributed leaflet on the Moon. Attendance from many different age groups, but mostly 18+ due to the time of the event. Many questions from public on distances of planets, number of stars and cosmological events.
