| Event Name: | A Moon Odyssey |
| Event Description: | During a magic week, 27 students aged 8 started a Moon Odyssey. The children celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing and decided to become Moon colonists for a week. First, the students explored and mapped the Moon to find a suitable place to land and build a camp. They decided to land on the South Pole because the environmental conditions are friendly and there is ice water in the craters. The students became space engineers and used Autodesk Tinkercad to prototype a 3D Moon camp. They also built and moved rovers on the Moon surface with the support of the Lego WeDo kits. At the end, the children used NASA Selfies App to take photos and make collages for a Moon gallery. |

| Report on the Results: | The learning event was based on experimental activities which empowered my students. The 27 children of my classroom became more confident in themselves, they are not afraid anymore to make decisions and to take risks. It was a wonderful feeling to see the 15 girls from my class eager to move rovers and to build Moon shelters – a step forward from the social opinion which says that playing with cars is suitable just for the boys. All my children saw that the learning process is purposeful and all of them dare to dream about jobs of the future. |
