Event Description: | Head to Science Museum Oklahoma and join thousands of organizations and museums around the globe celebrating World Space Week! All exhibits and activities are included with admission. 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.: “Cosmic Culture: Intersections of Art and Outer Space" in SMO's smART Space — Revolving around Jacob Hashimoto’s “The Other Sun,” a Minecraft-inspired installation made from 2,000 bamboo-and-paper kites, this brand new exhibit explores how space exploration and visual art have influenced each other. Learn more: www.sciencemuseumok.org/news/thousands-paper-kites-soar-science-museum-oklahoma-new-exhibition-exploring-intersection-art 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Experiment with filtered light, find out how craters form and what they can teach us about the history and composition of planets and moons, check out a Shuttle tile and other space artifacts, and design your own Lunar Mission patch. 10:30 a.m.: We'll read "The Berenstain Bears on the Moon" by Stan and Jan Berenstain during Storytime Science and explore galaxy slime. 10 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m.: Space-themed demos at Sideshow Science! |
