Event Name:  Tour of Big Bear Solar Observatory (Private Tour)
Event Description:  The Big Bear Solar Observatory is a solar observatory located on the north side of Big Bear Lake in the San Bernardino Mountains of southwestern San Bernardino County. The telescopes and instruments at the observatory are designed and employed specifically for studying the activities and phenomena of our solar system's star, the Sun. The New Solar Telescope is a 1.6M primary mirror. Outfitted with cutting-edge technology, the NST provides some of the highest resolution images of our sun available. Dr. John Varsik will be our host. His main responsibilities involve regular observation with the telescopes, network and data archive maintenance, and telescope control programming. 2 p.m-3 p.m. Pacific Time
