| Event Description: | At 09:09, August 18th, 1962 the first sounding rocket, Ferdinand-1 was successfully launched from Andoya Rocket Range. The range is located on the island Andoya in northern Norway at 69 dgr. north. The 45 years passed since that particular event was celebrated between Sept. 21 and Sept. 22nd 2007 featuring both public and internal celerations at the rocket range, all in conjunction with the upcoming World Space Week Zero-G flight in Las Vegas. The Norwegian participant, Kristian Rasmussen was mainly sponsored by Andoya Rocket Range. |
