Event Description:  Join the Intrepid Museum for a special Tour Guide Talk about Project Mercury on Saturday, October 5, at 1:00pm and 4:00pm. From the birth of NASA to designing a manned spacecraft, to finding someone who could actually fly the machine, the Mercury Program was rife with excitement, challenges, danger, and ultimately triumphs as America sent its first astronauts into space. Please meet in Hangar 1 for this Tour Guide Talk, or inquire at the Information Desk. Museum Admission is required to attend this Tour Guide Talk.
