Event Name:  Moving STEM beyond: Space to Inspire, Educate, Mentor and Fulfill
Event Description:  There is nothing more inspiring for a young mind growing up, while they are working in defining their true shape as a person, than to have role models and opportunities in front of them to support their aspirations for education and growth. As humans we all are born with a unique spark, a potential that we struggle to fulfill throughout a lifetime. That starts with inspiration and access to education early on in life but should not end there. Beyond education there is mentorship which represents a crucial ingredient for the progress of human society. Mentorship needs to exist throughout the entire societal canvas at all levels to ensure the process of passing the baton, one generation after another. Space, due to its Overview Effect, can move STEM beyond because, due to its physical nature, it actually has no geo-political boundaries and its unique overreach connects science, technology and humanities through something fundamental to every human being. Space can not only lift human spirit, fuel aspirations no matter where on Earth you happen to be from, but it holds the promise of individual and societal fulfilment. Join us on an exciting panel discussing interconnected aspects of Space, Education and Mentorship through a suite of efforts that span academic curriculums and competitions targeting from young ages to refugees. Moderator: Ioana Cozmuta, Ph.D. Space Scientist, Entrepreneur and Futurist; CEO, G-SPACE, Inc Panelists: Gregory Chamitoff, Ph.D. Former Astronaut and Professor of Engineering Practice, Texas A&M Nancy Conrad, Conrad Foundation (C) Veronica Cesco, Associate Program Expert, UNOOSA (C) Alex Dutton, Founder, Phoenix Space ©
