| Event Description: | Come and be part of one of our biggest weekends of the year, where Winchester Science Centre is invaded byall things space-themed! Meet space engineers, astronomers, Star Wars characters, satellite broadcasters and space enthusiasts. World Space Weekend special exhibitions and activities in the main venue are free after paying normal admission charges. Planetarium shows are charged at normal rates. Activities to include: Hold real pieces of the Moon and meteorites Astrium Space Engineering Apprentices - each year the apprentices present their latest project. In recent years they have built airships, rocket engines and Mars rovers. What will it be in 2014? Arqiva will beam you into space and back to Earth (via TV signals!) Meet Star Wars characters from Rebel Legion Live, presenter-led planetarium shows Launch your own water rocket outside (if weather allows); how high will it go? Enter our free prize draw by collecting rubber-stamped letters to win a prize. Enter Astrium's Design a spaceship competition to win prizes. 10am - 5pm |
