Report on the Results: | Held annually during World Space Week, this year’s "Open Doors on Sciences" event at the Research Unit in Scientific Mediation and Culture in Constantine, Organized by Sirius Astronomy Association and the Research Unit in Scientific Mediation – CERIST, once again captivated attendees with the wonders of space and science. The event featured: • Engaging Astronomy Lectures: Experts presented the latest advancements in astronomy and space science, offering insights into cutting-edge research and discoveries. • Science Exhibition: The event saw participation from notable research centers such as the Research Center in Biotechnology (CRBT), Research Center in Advanced Technological Development (CDTA), Research Unit in Chemistry (CHEMS), and the Algerian Space Agency (ASAL). Several science clubs from Constantine University 1 and ENS, as well as other educational institutions, also contributed, showcasing a wide array of scientific disciplines (Physics, Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics …). These groups provided the public with a captivating scientific exhibition, featuring hands-on chemistry experiments, electrostatic demonstrations, biology experiments, and engaging mathematical games, offering an interactive and educational experience for all attendees. • Solar Observation for the Public: Telescopes equipped with solar filters were set up outside the building, allowing attendees to observe solar activity and sunspots safely. This hands-on experience provided a fascinating glimpse into the dynamic nature of our Sun and offered participants a rare chance to explore solar phenomena up close. Media Coverage and Public Reach: Advertised across social media platforms, press outlets, television, and radio, "Open Doors on Sciences 2024" reached over 100,000 individuals, significantly expanding its impact and inspiring curiosity and enthusiasm for science and space among the public. |
