Report on the Results: | At 10:15 am on October 8th, Escola de Ensino Fundamental Prof. Artur Nunes Vidal took the reins of the Faulkes Telescope South telescope located at the Siding Spring Observatory, in Australia, and commanded it in real time and exclusively. For 30 minutes we oriented this powerful telescope from the LCO (Las Cumbras Observatory) telescope network, pointing it at different astronomical objects available in the sky of the Southern Hemisphere, it was 8:15 pm there and it had just fallen dusk. We thus traveled through the southern night, observing and photographing bright emission nebulae, distant galaxies whose light took millions of years to reach us, clusters of stars that formed skeins in our own galaxy. |
