| Event Description: | The Institute of Space & Planetary Astrophysics, University of Karachi, Karachi, Pakistan is organizing “3rd National Conference on Space Science & Technology” on 5th & 6th October, 2015 at University of Karachi, Karachi for celebrating “World Space Week 2015”. This conference is to be held in collaboration with SUPARCO and Higher Education Commission. The Vice Chancellor, University of Karachi, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser will preside the National Conference. Moreover, faculty members and students of various universities, institutes and other organizations and industries of Pakistan are expected to attend the Conference. |

| Report on the Results: | The Institute of Space & Planetary Astrophysics (ISPA), University of Karachi, Pakistan, organized the “3rd National Conference on Space Science & Technology” on October 5-6, 2015 in collaboration with SUPARCO and Higher Education Commission (HEC), for celebrating World Space Week-2015. The theme of the Conference was “Exploring the Deep Space Discoveries”. However, a wide range of topics of Space Science & technology were covered in the Conference. Space scientists all over Pakistan had attended this conference. The conference was inaugurated by Mr. Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Minister for Local Government, Govt. of Sindh. The Vice Chancellor, University of Karachi, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser had presided the Inaugural Ceremony of the National Conference. The convener of the Conference was ISPA Director, Prof. Dr. M. Javed Iqbal, Secretary Conference Organizing Committee was Dr. Mirza Jawwad Baig and Asst. Secretary was Mr. Faisal Afridi, while University Collaboration Coordinator, SUPARCO, was Mr. Anwar Ali Ghao for this conference. The closing ceremony of 3rd National Conference on Space Science and Technology was held at H.E.J auditorium, University of Karachi, on October 6, 2015. Dr. Sajid Mirza, Member Space Science & Technology SUPARCO was the chief guest of the ceremony. He appreciated the efforts of ISPA for organizing this conference. Mr. Sardar Yasin Malik, Chairman, Hilton Pharma Ltd. and Prof. Dr. Hafeez-ur-Rehman Hoorani, Director General, National Center for Physics, Islamabad, were present as special guest at this occasion. The dean faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Syed Arif Kamal was also present in the occasion. Prof. Dr. Charles Timothy Spracklen from Dean of Research and Continuing Education, Habib University, Karachi; Prof. Dr. Asghar Qadir (S.I., H.I) from Department of Physics, School of Natural Science, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad; Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sharif (T.I) from Department of Mathematics, University of Punjab, Lahore; Prof. Dr. Qamar-ul-Islam from Department of Electrical Engineering, Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad; Director General Dr. Suhail Zaki Farooqui from Pakistan Council of Renewable Energy Technologies, Islamabad; Dr. Hamid Saleem and Dr. Fazeel M. Khan from Department of Space Science, Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad; Dr. Najam Abbas Naqvi from Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad; Dr. Nadia Imtiaz and Dr. Saeed ur Rehman from Theoretical Physics Division, PINSTECH, Nilore, Islamabad; Prof. Dr. Asim-Ur-Rehman from Department of Electrical Engineering, FAST-NUCES, Karachi; Dr. Alia Bano Munshi from Center for Environmental Studies, PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Karachi and Prof. Dr. M. Ayub Khan Yousufzai from the ISPA, University of Karachi, were the prominent speakers of the conference. More than 50 technical research papers have been presented in the conference in the areas of Astronomy, Astrophysics, Aeronautical and Aerospace Technologies, Satellite Communications & GNSS, Remote Sensing & GIS, Geo-Space Science, Atmospheric Science, Renewable Energy, Climatology & Meteorology, Fluid Dynamics and other related disciplines which have benefited individuals and on the large, to the audience. Paper presenters were from the University of Punjab, Lahore; COMSAT, Lahore; Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad; NUST, Islamabad; PINSTECH, Islamabad; Pakistan Council of Renewable Energy Technologies, Islamabad; SUPARCO; Habib University, Karachi; Iqra University, Karachi; Hamdard University, Karachi; PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Karachi; NUST, Karachi; NED University of Engg. & Technology; FAST-NUCES, Karachi; Institute of Space Technology, Karachi; Sir Syed University of Engg. & Technology and University of Karachi. A large number of students, faculty members, scientists and professionals attended the Conference and fully benefited from the outcome of technical discussions. |
