Event Name: | Space and Climate Change |
Event Description: | Information Day regarding the European Space Week from October 4 till 7, 2024, is being prepared by the students who are studying Space sciences school subject. On October 10, the inquisitive fifth graders will present to 720 students the current topic of Space and climate change as well as the objective of the initiative of the World Space Week Association in order to strengthen the connection between space and society by means of education, participation and dialogue regarding the future of Space exploration. The projects that have been prepared will be presented, thus hoping to provoke interest for more young learners to join in. There will be an exhibition on climate change as recorded by Landsat and Copernicus. It's been an innovative school since 2021 with innovations and advancement in teaching methodology, the inclusion of new school subjects, and acquisition of crucial digital skills. |

Report on the Results: | During Space Week, the students from the Space Sciences class in Payisi Hilendarski Secondary School prepared an exhibition titled "Space and Climate Change". By using pictures from the Copernicus European Satellite Programme, the students showed the impact of climate change on the planet Earth and our lives, as well as the role that satellites play in the research of this global problem. The students prepared a presentation containing interesting facts for space and showcased it to fourth graders so that the latter can get to know what their peers have been learning in Space Sciences class. The future fifth graders were enthralled and asked numerous questions and commented on the contents of the presentation. |
