Report on the Results:  The Middle Tennessee Space Society chapter of The National Space Society presented our space exploration exhibit in the lobby of the theaters for 24 hours from 11am to 11pm on Friday and Saturday for the theater's 5,800 guests. This was opening weekend of the movie "The Martian", so we had many interested people. Four of our members spent the two days discussing past, present and future space exploration plans. We spoke with an estimated 800 - 1,000 guests directly. We explained our models and dioramas of spacecraft, rockets, rovers, and Lunar and Mars bases. Apollo, Saturn V, Space Shuttle, ISS, Falcon 9 & Dragon, Orion, SLS, SpaceShip Two & White Knight, Sojourner, Opportunity, & Curiosity, a Bigelow Aerospace moon base, a Mars base and more. We explained the nature of meteorites and let guests hold a 16 lb nickel iron meteorite and pieces of the Moon and Mars. We showed many space science videos on a 40" screen, views of places in space, plans for exploring them and ways to live and work in space. Our model of the Pluto/Charon system, to scale with Earth, Moon and Mars globes, showed their small size and unique tidally locked orbital pattern along their barycenter. This was an eye opener to many guests and led to discussions of other Trans Neptunion Objects, Dwarf Planets, and the search for expo planets. We presented all this to generate continued public support for further space exploration and inspire the next generation to follow their education and career paths into sciences, technology, engineering and math. They are our future. Vigorous and far reaching space exploration goals will be the inspiration for a generation of a million scientists and engineers and the promise of unlimited electricity from solar satelites which will improve the lives of all humans on Earth and in space.
