Event Name:  Porte des Mondes - Gate of the Worlds
Event Description:  Porte des Mondes - Gate of the Words - is a monument to honor the memory of Vladimir Syromiatnikov, one of the makers of Sputnik-1 in 1957, and the man who helped children of Saint Denis (Reunion) and Naltchick (Russia) make the first high-school satellite in the world in 1997 with Sputnik-40-Years, a functional scale model of the first Sputnik. The monument is an evocation of the engineering masterpiece of Vladimir Syromiatnikov, the APAS docking system for the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project in 1975. Every night of the 2015 World Space Week, Guy Pignolet was sitting under the moument from 21:00 till 22:30 to entertain friends and passers-by about the history of the monument, as well as open conversation about space activities in Reunion Island and in the activities,

Report on the Results:  In addition to the encounters at the Gate of the Worlds monument, the event was widely presented on the regional social networks. A 30-minutes talk show took place on Reunion 1ere Radio (about 80000 listeners) on Wednesday 7 Ocotber, and a quarter-page article was published in the regional Quotiden newspaper (distributed 40000 copies) in the Friday 9 October edition.
