The following are some of the highlight events planned for World Space Week 2016
- Lockheed Martin in United States of America will be holding a WSW Virtual Field Trip Event on October 4th, 2016 in Colorado
- Science Foundation & ESERO Ireland will be organising Moon workshops and Space up Ireland from 3 – 8 October.
- The Museum of Science & Industry, Florida will on October 8, 2016 host an “Afternoon with NASA Astronaut Story Musgrave” answering question from his 27-day Extra Vehicular Activity in space
- Space lecture will be organising an event in Pontefract – England where twins and Astronauts Scott & Mark Kelly will share their one year in Space experience on the 7th & 8th of October 2016
- To commemorate WSW 2016, IMAX will be showing space-themed blockbusters and documentaries between October 14 – 20 at several AMC IMAX locations in United States of America
- EORC, Ethiopia in collaboration with MOST is planning to celebrate a day of activity to commemorate World Space Week on October 6
- IIITDM Kancheepuram, India and ISRO are organising a 2-day event to celebrate WSW
- Armagh Planetarium will hold a Digital theatre show on the 4th of October to celebrate WSW 2016 in North Ireland
- Brazil plans a truly nationwide World Space Week celebration with 159 events including Astrophotography and several public astronomy public sessions.
- Hundreds of Astrium employees will speak to schools this week in France, Germany, and the UK.
- Teachers globally will use space during World Space Week to inspire children to learn.
