(Colorado Springs, April 17, 2025) — Robert Lightfoot, Lockheed Martin Space President, held a roundtable event at Space Symposium last week to engage space industry leaders on World Space Week.
Lightfoot, this year’s World Space Week Honorary Chair, spoke about how Lockheed Martin supports this annual October 4-10 global space celebration and asked colleagues to join him.
After a short presentation by World Space Week Association (WSWA) President Dennis Stone, Lightfoot joined Stone and other leaders in presenting an award to Chris Long, Vice President and General Manager of General Dynamics Mission Systems.
Executives attending the event also represented Firefly, Airbus, Draper, EnduroSat, and Honeywell.
UN-declared World Space Week is the largest space event on Earth, according to WSWA. Over 15,000 events were reported that week last year in 90 nations. The theme for World Space Week 2025 is “Living in Space.”
