World Space Week 2025 theme is “Living in Space,” exploring humanity’s journey beyond Earth. As we stand on the cusp of permanent space habitation, this year’s celebration examines the technologies, innovations, and human adaptations necessary for thriving in extraterrestrial environments.

Space stations, lunar bases, and Mars settlements are no longer distant dreams. They represent active engineering challenges requiring breakthrough solutions in life support systems, closed-loop agriculture, radiation protection, and psychological wellness. The infrastructure we develop today will determine whether future generations can call space their home.

This year’s events will explore sustainable space habitation while inspiring the next generation of engineers, scientists, and explorers. Students worldwide will discover how biology, physics, engineering, and human psychology converge to solve life beyond Earth.

World Space Week 2025 Highlights

  • World Space Week 2025 Artwork Mosaic will return to Piccadilly Lights in London on October 8 with Space for a Better World! Global participants are invited to submit artwork reflecting the theme “Living in Space,” with selected pieces showcased on the iconic screen.
